What is a payment processor and what are my options?

Learn what a payment processor is how to choose the best option for your business.

How is a payment processor different from a payment gateway?

The payment processor is the financial institution that manages and executes the transaction between the buyer and the seller. Meanwhile, the payment gateway serves as a bridge, enabling seamless communication between the processor and AuctionNinja.

What processors are available on AuctionNinja?

Sellers can use one of two gateways in order to integrate their selected processor: Authorize.net or NMI. CLICK HERE to read more about processor gateways.

For NMI:

NMI is limited to AuctionNinja's relationship with Chase Bank. When you sign up for merchant processing with Chase via our relationship management team, they will send our team a VAR sheet which we will attach to NMI and integrate with your AN account.

For Authorize.net:

Typically, the bank providing business services will provide information about payment processing directly, and connecting with authorize. If you do not have a preferred institution, Authorize.net will provide a processor for you.
