Inventory

A guide to using AN's inventory management system.

Inventory

Select the “inventory” tab on the seller dashboard to see the following screen:

Sellers can see all past inventory items by selecting "sold." Sellers can use this link to send a list of sold items (with prices achieved) to potential consignors.

How to Add Inventory

There are three ways to add inventory. Each way compliments common scenarios estate sale professionals experience when processing items for an auction.

Quick add is a stripped down method without many fields. Add the title of an item, and the description. This works great on a smartphone and you can use it onsite. When selecting “save and add new,” a new item will populate with the client and the auction saved from the previous item.

Add bulk inventory contains additional fields for more  information about the inventory. When selecting “save and add new,” a new item will populate with the client and the auction saved from the previous item.

Add inventory is for adding one item at a time.

Add Inventory:

  • Add inventory is best when adding one item at a time.
  • Select “save” to return to the “manage inventory” page.
  • Sellers can drag and drop photos directly into AuctionNinja.

Key Take Aways:

-Items are searchable via the LEAD and the DESCRIPTION of the item.

-Associating items with an auction as items are uploaded will keep a seller's inventory organized.

-Adding tags and categories will make items more visible to bidders on the marketplace.

-Indicate if an item is available for shipping to mitigate bidder confusion.

Adding inventory via Add Bulk Inventory or Quick Add look similar to add inventory.

In add bulk, when sellers select “save and add new,” a new blank item appears below the first, with the auction and client auto populated.

Add bulk works well if sellers are working to load items into a single owner auction.

Quick add only has auction, client, lead, and description. This option is for getting numbers on items, with the intent of further cataloging later. Works great on a smartphone.

Manage Conditions

Sellers can customize the conditions assigned to their inventory.

Once the condition is added, it will be available as an option  under the “condition” field of any item in the seller’s inventory. Sellers can add as many conditions as they want.

Cataloging Resources

Cataloging can make or break a sale. Sellers should look at comparable companies to determine how they should catalog items.

Below, see a great example of a well cataloged item:

Note:

The seller has a detailed description of the item, including a brief history. Though most sellers won’t have as much information on most items, it’s important to write detailed and thorough descriptions.

The seller has also disclosed that the item is untested, meaning that they are not responsible for whether or not the item functions correctly.
