A guide to the "clients" tab in the seller dashboard

Clients

Bidders and consignors appear under “clients.”

Bidders and consignors are considered the same account type. This means when creating a consignor account, sellers are really creating a bidder account on behalf of the consignor, though it’s not required to give that consignor access.

If sellers choose to give access to their consignors, they can allow consignors to see their items via a bidder account under “consignments.”

Click the client ID —> account information —> status. This changes the bidding status of a client.

Consignor reporting tools can be exported via PDF or CSV.

Add a new client by clicking the "Add new" button.

“Action” allows sellers to do the following:

Email Customer: Send a message via AuctionNinja to the bidder/consignor.

$: See how much the seller owes a consignor.

Display Bids: See a bidder’s past bids

Items Won: See a bidder’s past purchases

Manage Inventory: Manage a consignor’s inventory–past or current.

How to Create a New Client

To add a consignor, create a bidder account using the “add a new client” button.

Since this is a bidder account, add an email and set a password so the consignor can log in and see their consignments. Consignments appear under a tab in the bidder dashboard.

If the seller doesn’t want to give consignors account access, they can make arbitrary login credentials and not disclose.

The consignor will never receive notifications from AuctionNinja if the seller chooses to include the consignor's email address.

Internal reference #, account manager, and company are additional fields that make consignors easier to search under the clients tab.

Reference # references any CMS system a seller might use outside of AuctionNinja to track consignments.

Commissions:

Sellers are able to adjust their commission rate per client. Keep in mind that a tiered commission structure is a great negotiation tool for clients who have a large range of projected values in their inventory.

Example of a tiered commission structure:

Tax ID and Tax Exempt Bidders

The bidder must fill out their Tax ID number and upload their certificate to AuctionNinja, where an admin will review the documentation they provide.

If bidders call sellers with resale certificate related questions, please direct them to the AuctionNinja support line.
