Sellers risk friendly fraud by facilitating transactions online, but there are several resources to help vendors stay protected.

To avoid chargebacks/card disputes, sellers should try the following: 

  • Bidders should ALWAYS sign invoices for local pickup sales.
  • Feel free to ask bidders to bring a photo ID, and/or the physical credit card used to complete the transaction when picking up high value items. 
  • Sellers can add these instructions under the “win email notes.” 
  • Sellers can request that bidders send a copy of their signed invoice via email if a 3rd party shipper is picking up the goods.

Though AuctionNinja is a "where-is-as-is" platform, sellers can avoid chargebacks by granting refunds in special situations. For example, if the item was damaged and not properly photographed, a refund might be necessary.
