To avoid chargebacks/card disputes, sellers should try the following:
- Bidders should ALWAYS sign invoices for local pickup sales.
- Feel free to ask bidders to bring a photo ID, and/or the physical credit card used to complete the transaction when picking up high value items.
- Sellers can add these instructions under the “win email notes.”
- Sellers can request that bidders send a copy of their signed invoice via email if a 3rd party shipper is picking up the goods.
Though AuctionNinja is a "where-is-as-is" platform, sellers can avoid chargebacks by granting refunds in special situations. For example, if the item was damaged and not properly photographed, a refund might be necessary.
